QR Fitted is a small independent project with a simple idea: making a good QR code should be free, fast and respectful of your data.

Why this site exists

While looking for a QR code generator for a local business, we kept running into the same things: mandatory sign-ups, watermarks, codes that stopped working when the free trial ended and forms that sent Wi-Fi passwords to unknown servers. So we built the tools we wish we’d found.

How we work

• Everything in your browser. The tools use client-side JavaScript. We don’t receive or store what you type or the files you use.
• Static codes. We don’t put a middleman between your QR code and its destination, so we can’t switch it off or charge you to keep it running.
• Open standards. We generate codes in the formats phones recognize (URL, WIFI, vCard 3.0, mailto, SMSTO, tel, geo) and test them with an automatic scanner.
• Open-source software. We rely on open-source libraries: qr-code-styling to create and style QR codes, jsQR to read them and JsBarcode for barcodes. Thanks to their authors.

How it’s funded

The site is free and supported by advertising. We make sure ads don’t get in the way of the tools or get confused with their buttons.
